111911_New work for Simutronics

So now I have a bit more things to share. Here is a bit of the work I did during the summer for Simutronics Corporation, video game developer a video game developer based near St.Louis.
It was a lot of fun interning with them over the summer while they were still developing their most recent title Tiny Heroes which, as I understand, is an excellent tower defense game. I didn't get to contribute to that my work was working on promotional illustrations in some of their online RPG titles like Dragon Realms and Gemstone IV. It was a blast working with the artists there and I hope this work shows it!

I've started collaborating with my friend Stephen of the Robo-san project from last year on a new fun side project involving children with super powers. The result is really fun and silly, and I'm learning to model in Maya as a part of it, which is a big plus for me. As time goes on with the project you'll be seeing some maya renders and hopefully some zbrush stuff as well!

I was feeling really down that I hadn't put a decent amount of time/finesse into a piece in a while and then I decided to look at Illustration Friday for some inspiration and I saw the theme "stripes."

I've been aching to do more digital painting lately as well so this seemed like a good opportunity to work on painting flesh.
I started with the usual thumbnails and tried some other ideas but ended up liking none of them very much except for the ones with the girl. I guess I wanted to do something pseudo-pinupy anyways. Also, here's a full resolution crop so you can see a bit more detail.
